Following Colombia’s shock defeat to Japan Senegal pulled off the second upset of Group H by beating Poland 1-2.
As the match kicked off in Moscow everybody expected Poland to come away with the points but, Poland just lacked the quality upfront to threaten Senegal.
Senegal dominated most of the attacking play and finally went ahead in the 37th minute through a Clonek own goal. Leroy Sane missed a great chance to double Senegal’s lead just before the end of the first half.
Niang doubled Senegal’s lead in the 60th minute before Poland pulled one back in the 86th minute through Krychowiak.
Poland and Colombia have it all to do now if they are to qualify to the knockout stages of this World Cup.
